Ben Ho
Ben Ho was born in Canton, China in 1962, and immigrated to New Zealand in 1988.
In 1969 he commenced studies with the Chinese painting techniques, exhibiting in the Canton-Tiajin Children's Fine Art Exhibition in 1974 and in the Fine Art Exhibition managed by Haizhu District Culture Gallery in Canton in 1977.
Ben commenced studies with the Canton Fine Art School in 1978, graduating in 1984.
Since 1991 Ben has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and in 1992 he became a working member of the New Zealand Fellowship of Artists Inc. He has won numerous prestigious art awards and in 1999 he was chosen as one of five artists to represent New Zealand Art in the World-Wide Millennium painting competition in London.
Ben runs painting tutorials in watercolour and oil painting nationwide and has had painting articles feature in magazines such as the "Auckland Art News" (New Zealand), "Australian Artist" and "International Artist" (Australia). He has also been a judge at many art competitions around the North Island of New Zealand and for the Miss Asia New Zealand Beauty Pageant 2003.
As well as exhibiting his paintings in New Zealand, Ben has exhibited in USA, UK and Australia, with his works being held in many international art collections.
